Himalayan Treks & Day Trails

From the Tiger’s Nest trail to 4,000-metre base camps — trekking in Bhutan, fully supported and properly equipped.

Bhutan’s trails are among the least crowded in the Himalaya. Because the country regulates visitor numbers carefully, a day on the Druk Path or the Jomolhari approach rarely means sharing the path with more than a handful of fellow walkers — and our trekking programmes are designed to keep it that way.

Our day trails cover the Tiger’s Nest hike, the Bumdra Camp overnight above Paro and gentle valley walks in Phobjikha and Haa. Our multi-day treks follow the classic routes: the Druk Path between Thimphu and Paro across high yak pastures, and the Jomolhari Base Camp trek up the Paro Chhu toward the sacred 7,326-metre peak on the Tibetan border.

How our treks are run

Every expedition is supported by a certified trekking guide, a camp cook and pony teams for equipment. Camps include two-person tents, foam mattresses, a heated dining tent and biodegradable toilet tents. All guides carry satellite communication and first-aid kits, and every itinerary builds in acclimatisation days above 3,500 metres.

Choosing the right trek

First-time trekkers and families usually begin with the Bumdra Camp overnight — a two-day experience that combines the Tiger’s Nest trail with a high camp beneath prayer flags. Regular hill walkers prefer the Druk Path, while the Jomolhari Base Camp trek suits experienced hikers comfortable with consecutive days above 4,000 metres. Our counsellors will match your fitness and dates to the right route.
