Booking, payment, cancellation and travel conditions for tours operated by the Royal Bhutan Tourism Development Council.

1. Quotations & Bookings

All quotations are prepared in Indian Rupees for the stated travel dates, group size and hotel category, and are valid for 14 days from issue. A booking is confirmed on receipt of a 25% advance payment and a copy of valid travel identity documents for all guests.

2. Payments

Payments are accepted through bank transfer and other instruments notified by the Council. The balance amount is due 15 days before the date of arrival in Bhutan. Government levies, including the Sustainable Development Fee, are collected and remitted as per prevailing Royal Government of Bhutan rules.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • More than 30 days before arrival: refund of advance after deduction of permit and processing charges.
  • 15–30 days before arrival: 50% of the package price retained.
  • Within 14 days of arrival or no-show: no refund.
  • Unused services during the tour are non-refundable.

4. Travel Documents

Indian nationals must carry a valid passport or Voter ID card. The Council assists with entry permits and route permits but is not responsible for refusal of entry caused by incomplete, invalid or expired documents.

5. Itinerary Changes

Bhutan's mountain roads, weather and festival calendars can require changes to the published sequence of sightseeing. The Council reserves the right to modify itineraries where necessary for safety, while ensuring equivalent value is delivered.

6. Liability

The Council acts as an operator for hotels, transport and guide services and is not liable for loss, injury or delay caused by natural events, road closures, flight disruptions, political conditions or other circumstances beyond its control. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bhutan. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Thimphu.
